Massachusetts:

Massachusetts:

Historical Background: Massachusetts was founded in 1620 by the Pilgrims and in 1630 by the Puritans because Puritans and Pilgrims from England wanted reform from the Church of England. I personally felt a sense of urgency to get away from England, because of the fact colonist were upset with the Church of England. Inuring that journey must have been really hard, and we should fully respect each colonist who made it.

Government: Colonist from Massachusetts ran their government as a General Court. All male white members of the church could vote. One of the benefits of having a General Court was that there were public town meetings.

Geography: Massachusetts is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for fishing, importing, and exporting.

Economy: Pretty much any type of water work, fishing, whaling for oil, ship building, and shipping products out. Of course there are always chores around the colony to do too.

Celebrity Residents: Residents who have lived here are William Bradford, our beloved governor, John Winthrop, our first governor, and Squanto.

Religion: Our religion is Protestant Christian, but we follow Puritan values within Christianity.

Important documents: The Mayflower Compact was important to the Pilgrims and Puritans because it was the first governing document of the colony of Massachusetts, Plymouth.

Selling Point: If you want someone who will take care of you whenever there’s an issue, and who will use Biblical principles to make the colony better, come to Massachusetts!

Target resident: Any Puritan or Pilgrim wishing to escape from the Roman Catholic Church, and use the fundamentals of the Bible for teachings.
